TRICARE Launches New Website

For those of you who have been following for a while you know that I have previously posted some health related articles from TRICARE. Great news! They recently launched their very own website for all things health related, and it is AWESOME!!!!

Healthy Homefront (www.HealthyHomefront.com)

On the blog, you’ll find:
·         Healthy living tips
·         TRICARE news
·         Info on using your benefits
·         Ways to keep you and your family healthy

 The Goal: Educate Military Spouses
That’s what it boils down to. We want to make sure you have the information you need, that’s relevant to you and your family. This blog is one more way to help educate you—and other military spouses—on your TRICARE benefits and other important health issues.

I will still continue to post articles on my blog, but just in case you miss one, or are looking for something specific, this is your place!

Check it out! www.healthyhomefront.com

Who AM I???

Today an opportunity was presented to the Military Spouse community. Being A military spouse-blogger, I knew I had to share this on all my social networks, but it was not until I had a conversation with a friend that I decided maybe I should apply. I couldn't seem to write a bio, but I wrote something, and something is better than nothing right? So here it is, my submission for the Her War, Her Voice retreat!

A blank piece of paper, I sat and stared at a blank piece of paper for 3 hours today trying to decide what to tell you all about me. My name is Kristle, and I’m a caregiver to a wounded warrior, no, that’s not right. My name is Kristle, and I am a Mommy, nope not that one either. My name is Kristle and I am an Army Veteran, I miss it everyday but you can’t  change the past…blah, I am all over the place. Although I am all of those things that is not ALL I want to be. What I want to be able to tell you, and what I can are two completely different things. I want to be able to tell you that in addition to the above I am a fun, ambitious, hardworking, and goal oriented girl, but right now all this stuff seems to have gone missing amidst the angry outbursts, insomnia, and days of  being so depressed I don’t leave the couch. I really want to go on this retreat to find these parts of me that I lost so long ago. My husband has made an amazing recovery, and I have begun to see the things in him that I fell in love with so long ago. The things that during our darkest moments I thought I would never see. Now I am afraid though, that this person I have become is going to push him away, that my walls are too high, that the traits in me that HE fell in love with are all gone, or masked by fear. I don’t love this person whole-heartedly, how can he?? I really want to go on this retreat for ME, to discover ME again, to learn to love myself so others can too!I know this can’t happen in a weekend, but I need a place to start, a place free of judgment, and stress, a place where I can destroy the walls I have built up around myself, a place where I know that I can ask for help in destroying this wall if just one chisel or axe, or whatever the choice weapon may be is not enough. I am 25 years old, I have so much life ahead of me, I have so many amazing opportunities at my fingertips, I need to get out of this rut and take advantage of them to be a better person, not just for me, but for everyone.
