Proof that there are still good people in this world!

Those of you from around here know all about Riley Yard Sales, and The Riley Underground, but for those of you who dont know, its like craigslist, and the underground was supposed to be a forum where everyone could go to just talk, and vent, and make friends, well it turned into a bash zone!! I dont even participate in the conversations that much, but I shared my blog with them to open up some peoples eyes to the fact that there are more things in life than arguing about who whould sell what, and whether or not you should send your kids to school if they have a cold. This stuff gets ridiculous! Extremely! Well yesterday while going through my morning ritual I opened my email to find this message:

"You are an incredible woman, wife, and mom.As I read your blog I thought most other women would of caved in by now.You however are an excellent example of what true love, dedication and standing by your man really means."

Wow! Where are the Industrial size boxes of Kleenex when you need them.....

"Does your family have a place to go for Thanksgiving? We have 40lbs of turkey and are having a southern style turkey day? My hubby is from Louisiana...what can I say lol.Know you don't know us at all just offering to make Thanksgiving easier for you.Consider it an open invitation."

This easily made my entire week, and I hope that she has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! I dont know about you all, but when stuff like that happens to me, I want to return the favor. If everyone did one thing remotely like that everyday, can you imagine how much better our world could be? Just something to think about.....

False Sense of Security....

As an ex-Soldier, and the wife of a Retired Soldier, I know that  I along with alot of others have been guilty of this at one time or another. Its hard not to develop a false sense of security when everyone around you fights for the freedom of the country. We see Soldiers as brave, and noble, and honest, unfortunately Soldiers are people too, and as with any job, you have the good and the bad. I dont really know what to make of the "Shooting Spree" at Fort Hood. So many things are going through my mind. This could have been here.....I go to work at the SRP site sometimes, and its pretty safe to say that i fyou are in the Military you have been there at least once. This could have been me, or you, or someone close to you. For those of you who were directly affected by this, you have every bit of my thoughts and prayers right now in this awful time! For everyone elsetry not to get complacent, you never know who people are or what they are up to. Even on or around a Military Installation. I just ask that everyone keep these victims, as well as the officials working to piece this together in your prayers, they need it right now! Also the Soldiers Angels are working to provide comfort items for the children and families. Here is the information!

SOLDIERS' ANGELS STANDING BY FOR FT. HOOD-- Collecting cards and NEW stuffed animals for the families and children of the fallen/wounded heroes. Please send cards and stuffed animals/blankets/anything NEW that may brighten the life of a child to: Soldiers' Angels Warehouse 4408 PanAm Expressway San Antonio, TX 78218

Lots of Parts and Pieces.

Ever feel like your going too fast? Like things just need to slow down? Thats how I feel, but there are lots of changes in our near future that I think are going to have a positive impact on all of that. I decided to quit my job! The cost of daycare was a huge deciding factor, but also all the stuff going on with Nate, he needs me.He needs a solid support system, and im it.When im stretched too thin it makes it hard to provide that.Im looking forward to being home with the kids and availible to take Nate to his appt's and just play mommy/ wife for a while.Im going to have to learn to be "domesticated" but i think ill manage.Im thinking that this will allow more time for my schooling, which is pretty important because I hate to say it, but we arent really sure where Nate will be in 10 years as far as career and health goes. Im really excited that ill have more time to work on photo stuff too, I love it, it has become a real passion for me, and I really hope it can turn into a career and not just a hobby! Even though im dissappointed that im quiting my job, im really excited about the things that are in store for us in the next few months.

Halloween!

Here are some of the Halloween Pictures! We had a great time, even though Daddy wasnt here to join us! Oh well it was a much neccesary trio for him, and I think it really opened his eyes to some things that I had realized before and he hadnt. Thats a whole other thing though, so ill fill you all in on that later....for now here are the Halloween Pics!
